prepping for Costume College

Getting my paperwork together, went out and got the materials I'll need for the headpieces class. Still trying to figure out if I can get my pincushion/scissors onto the plane, and if so how. And if so, is it worth the PITA of checking my bag when I can probably buy/borrow said items once I get there? I've not been on a plane since last summer (eep!) - can anyone tell me what the current regulations are re: sewing supplies?

Still have to:

• Snip fabric sample off of 1940's skirt - will try to find matching fabric in the Garment District so I can make matching Kate Hepburn-style pants - done
  
• Find shopping guide to LA to share with C. once she and I meet up Monday night No such thing/I don't have it
  
• Get car payment ready to go out so D. can drop it in the mail while I'm gone
  
• Xfer $ to account so will have $ for food/shopping in LA Done. Now just have to remember to hit ATM before I leave
  
• Remember costume, including sandals Done
  
• Remember goff-style makeup, as C. wants to go to local goff club done
  
• Remember usual compliment of vitamins done + bukus of C and echinacea so I won't get sick on the plane and enjoy a nice week of sniffles because of recycled air
  
• Get some kind of disposable camera taking digital camera and re-charge kit
  
• Remember recharge set for cell phone. Hell, remember cell phone # to give to MIL and C.
  
• Get listing of H-Costume folks attending the College that I should look for - done
  
• Try on bathing suit, just in case
  
• Will add more to this list as I remember stuff
