Been shoppin' </monty python voice>

Objectives: get some "grown-up" clothes suitable for work and weekend that don't cost a fortune and aren't a rehash of things I already have (i.e., another black pair of pants, another hoodie of any description). I think I did awfully well.

This Friday I'm taking off work to indulge in the fine American female stereotype of shopping :)

Raids are planned on H&M, Target, DSW Shoe Warehouse (be still my heart!) and Anthropologie (the sale section only, I swear!). Perhaps Lohemann's and/or Filene's Basement if I really come up empty at the first three.

Any local folks able to recommend anything else at/near Tysons worth seeing besides Nordstrom? Looking primarily at clothes/shoes but am willing to look at other consumer goods if they're really interesting.

It has recently come to my attention that I've come into a bit of extra money.

Most of this will go towards responsible things like bills and credit cards, but I'm going to set aside a little to spruce up my work wardrobe - specifically, to replace some rather shabby t shirts and cardigans with something a little more professional, a little more stylish (or, at the very least, a little less worn out).

I've read good reviews of H&M on a local fashion blog whose URL escapes me at the moment, but have never been to a nearby store. Specifically, I hear about fashion forward with good prices, but their site, while full of pretty pictures, has no online store and no examples of how the clothes look on the hanger/on ordinary mortals who aren't 5'10" and 110 lbs :P And let it be said that for a fashion nrrd, I really don't enjoy shopping if I have little/no chance of finding what I'm interested in.

So I put it to the forum - is it worth my effort to drag my lazy carcass out to one of the local shops or will I just be better off going to Target?
