It could be that Jeeves has a more challenging job because Wooster is more high maintenance. But, then, see upthread re: Batman creating substantial logistic problems (Alfred has to maintain his cover, etc.)

Wooster is high maintenance but also simpleminded and easily manipulated, thus a lot less overall work for the servant planning world domination. ***GRIN***

My running theory - Alfred is Jeeves descendant, carrying on the family tradition. I mean, we never learn Alfred's last name, do we? It COULD be Alfred Jeeves...

Sounds a reasonable theory to me, as Jeeves never mentioned planning permanent single status or celibacy for himself ... (must be via a Jeeves daughter, though, as Alfred's surname is Pennyworth)

And I say that about Jeeves' planning because Mr. Wodehouse wrote many many many Jeeves and Wooster novels and short stories, all of them from Bertie Wooster's POV. Except one. There is one, and only one, short story in the series narrated by Jeeves himself, letting the reader in on his thoughts, plans, and motives. (Yes, I know the title, and yes, I own a copy ... but why deprive you of the thrill of hunting it down? ***EVIL EVIL GRIN***)
