The incredibly short version, because I'm very tired (seems like every competition I want to sleep 12 hours afterwards. Must work on stamina):


  • I improve, bit by incremental bit. I kept my head in the game with minimal vanity OR despair, and no snap-crackle-pop from my foot.
  • I managed to get touches on some very highly rated fencers. This may sound small but I feel like the cat that looked at a king :)
  • Circular parry six is circular for a reason - come up out of low line straight and I handily miss my opponents blade and get hit :P V. was right, I'm being lazy, or at least feeble. I'm going to try the motion with my weights and see if I can't get the strength to speed that up.
  • Also going to get back on the ball with my foot exercises - my ankles are flexible; now I need them strong.
  • I got up at o' dark 30 in freezing temperatures to make it to this competition. I must really love this sport!
