Being away two weeks is a lot different than being away for only one. Not only did I really get into "vacation mode" (which I'm still not completely out of), but 2 weeks is long enough for things to have really changed back home.
Specifically, I'm noticing a lot of stores shut and boarded up (including the gas station nearest to me), a significant drop in gas prices, and unseasonably cold weather.
What else did I miss? The election doesn't count - I followed it from home and it was heavily covered in Italian newspapers (more on that in a different post).
