shy_kat and I were in Florence this spring for a few days (during two and a half months in Italy). We highly recommend the Bargello Museum and Santa Maria Novella church across from the train station---as well as the Uffizi, of course. And you must, absolutely must, eat some gelato at Perche No on Via Dei Tavolini in the "centro storico" (historic district). It's the stuff of dreams.
