P.S. Last week I received an email from the director of a large city's public library ... with a "plural noun with apostrophe" in the subject line. I swear, if I see "CD's" one more time, especially from somebody in the bastion-of-literacy profession, there will be blood shed ... >:(
Grammatical errors -- especially by those who are supposed to know what they're doing -- drive me insane!!! (one of my professors didn't call me a "grammar nazi" for nothing) :p
Oh yes, that is a nasty (and far too frequent) one.
A day brightener for you ... my middle sister C. (the organized one) used to carry a black marker and a bottle of white-out in her purse (for all I know she still does) and would sneakly correct incorrect spellings and apostrophes on any store notice/sign she could reach (she's also the short one)
