A busy day, but a good one.

D. and I went down to the Smithsonian, and saw at the recommendation of a friend, the Xu Bing "Word Play" exhibit at the Sackler. It was just so intriguing, inventing whole new letters and texts, some of which were meaningless. I was also interested in the traditional Chinese book making techniques.

Also stopped by the Hirshorn, where neither of us had been in some years. The H.C. Westermann exhibit was highly amusing - this guy had a great sense of humor and serious talent in wood crafting.

We ate with the tourists, inhaled a pile of dust from the Mall, and went back home. It was a good walk for both of us and its fair to say that I'm going to sleep very well tonight.

After I got home I decided I was on a roll so I went out and got the purple glass beads I needed to complete the Fortuny. I got started on that tonight, and finished beading one seam just a few minutes ago. Apart from the gathering threads, the imitation Fortuny goes amazingly fast and easily - I will definitely make a long sleeved version at some point!

Also at the recommendation of H., I have finally found some girl-jeans that fit and make me look like I have a butt. These are the first womens' jeans that have fit in about 10 years. I'm pleased with them, and D. is eager to see how they look ;)

Off to bed, or at least to pour some eyedrops in. That, and there are two cats staring at me for interfering with their schedule....
