BSG, "the boxing episode"

I've been catching up on the latest season of Battlestar Galactica, and finally got to this much lauded episode:

Poor Anders. Poor Dee. Little though they may shine compared to the main characters, you've still gotta feel for them.

But don't pity the audience because we get to see Starbuck kick Lee's ass while wearing little more than a sports bra! I think she may have officially passed Aeryn Sun in my mental gallery of Hot SciFi Women (the tattoos work - if I had a back like that I'd tat it too!)

Ahem. There was actually plot involved and while I'm not terribly surprised at the revelation about Lee and Starbuck, I thought it was well played and paced in the context of the other flashbacks. Whatever may be said of Starbuck and/or Lee's hotness, IMHO they're both too fscked up to be with anyone, perhaps even each other.

Speaking of other flashbacks, I'm having a Pollyanna moment over the Laura/Bill canoodling (because, let's face it, snuggling between [ex]presidents and their military leaders doesn't happen everyday). Sure, it's unprofessional, but it's nice to see the two clearly smart and mature people have a meeting of the minds - if they ever do get together they'll take over the world(s) (alas, could not find a decent screencap).
Happily not another Balthar/Cylon of the week snoozefest - why anyone wants that little drowned chihuahua is anyone's guess :P

ROFLMAO - little drowned chihuahua?!?!? I love it - hadn't quite thought of him like that, but ...yeah, it works.

Very slimy, that one.

Balthar is the character I love to hate - utterly fascinating to watch him trainwreck because it's not because he's flat out evil, it's because he's weak.

And yeah - next time you watch, look at that shocked/pleading look he gets every time a cylon puts him in an awkward position - drawned rat/dog all the way :P

::::grin:::: I agree - he's one of those trainwrecks you can't look away from! He falls apart so spectacularly!

Personally, I like what Adama did for the chief. He knew he'd get his ass kicked, but it got the chief off his own. :-)

I think they both needed that. Adama as well - it gave him the opportunity to point out the whole "united we stand, divided we fall" thing.

And the fight got Roslin to show some worry and concern for him - I swear, I think they may be my favorite "couple" in the show...

:::timidly puts hand up::: I haven't seen but one or two eps, in season 1. I'd download it, but my ISP watches for things like that. :(

Netflix and the like are your friends - Seasons 1 and 2 are definitely out on DVD by now, highly recommended - good plot and acting all over the place :)

Yes!

That scene had me crossing my legs & biting my palm, it was so hot. What is it about really sexy, buff chicks kicking ass and getting the crap kicked out of them in return that's so magically delicious?

Want. Stills.

Also: I just signed Ernie & me up for Springfire! Yay!

Much, much agreed - I love that Starbuck is considered tough enough that the "don't hit girls" rule doesn't apply, at least in the ring :) Go to the site listed above for stills - they've got tons of 'em!

Re: Springfire - YAY! I can't register yet, but will try to by March 1.
