Sexiest Geeks of 2006

Glargh, was typing and the power flickered!

Wired's put out it's call for nominees this year, and I'm reading the comments with amusement. I can think of several sexy geeks of my acquaintance that would surely qualify based on their loose criteria of "you know a sexy geek when you see, nay, experience one", but I think they're trying to stick to public figures :P

The results are sorta predictable (lots of votes for last year's winners and Kari Byron of Mythbusters), but IMHO the list seems to be lacking somewhat:

• Charming though they may be, I don't think Elijah Wood and Stephen Colbert really qualify. They may play geeks on tv, but that doesn't make them the real thing.
  
• Seth Green surely qualifies, if only for having the action figure collection that helped him half-spawn Robot Chicken's bite-sized dementia. Besides, at least one of my friends wants to suck his toes for creating same :P
  
• Because food + science = slick, Alton Brown's gotta be somewhere in the running.
  
• Rachel Kramer Bussel - text, brains, and curves.
  

Anyone else qualify as a sexy geek that the commenters are missing?

Actually, I would say that Colbert qualifies for his LOTR obsessions, which he discussed on Conan O'Brien, and his action figure demonstration of what Rick Santorum meant when he compared us to hobbits, or whatever it was he said.

I saw Alton Brown at a book signing once, and he's even cuter close up.

! I was unaware that Colbert had the action figure/LOTR thing - OK, he might fairly be back on the list.

Re: Alton Brown: I have a feeling I could really get into him if I watched Good Eats more often (familiarity breeds interest, IMHO). Was he nice too?
