Whoot! Dyscalculia is finally getting some press! And yes, the 'aversion of phobic proportions' is spot on.
On the other hand, even with the dyscalculia and the phobic aversion, I realize that a functional knowledge/ability with math is a good idea. I actually find math easier to do if there's a real world application- I can do the geometry neccessary to draft a pattern (checking, re-checking, and re-re-checking the numbers)since there's an objective check on whether or not the numbers make sense. It's abstract math that makes my brain seize up.
