Jan. 29th, 2002 10:49 pmAnother balmy, spring-like day. Windows are OPEN. Heat is OFF. It feels like a summer day in here!! I know it won't last but MAN, I'm savoring it while its here.
The heat gives everything a smell, and sensation is coming back into my skin. I about died when I smelled someone grilling steak as I drove home (with my windows down!)
I am starting to notice the lack of sugar and fat in my diet. The aching for a barbecue chicken pizza was particularly painful tonight, especially after smelling the grilling, but I behaved.
Ordered an inexpensive pair of fencing gloves (I currently have only one) and a hood for use in period fencing. Also ordered an alternative to the solid plastic breast protector, so I can have some protection without looking like Seven of Nine.
Joined a mailing list for local SCA rapier - can you tell I enjoyed the practice yesterday? I have no idea how I'll find the time to read the damn thing; I have pared down the mailing lists as much as I feel that I can without missing out on useful costuming information.
Endured more gossip at work - I probably know more about the office personality conflicts than anyone else, because they all talk to me but apparently never to each other. And I'd rather not know, as mentioned before I think it puts me in an awkward situation.
My eyes itch; probably something is pollinating prematurely, and will be in for a shock when it gets very cold again.
I'm sitting here in jeans and a tank top and sweating - in January! It's freaky but I love it!
Gotta try to get some sleep but I feel so energized I know it will be hard to do.
