I swear, if it weren't for Pandagon and other blogs I'd have to start coming up with my own ideas :P Instead of stretching my brain cells, I give you the laugh/cry movie questions and then one:

1) What movie scene(s) always make you cry, without fail?

2) What movie scene(s) have you on the floor hyperventilating with laughter, even though you've seen it a dozen times before?

And I'll raise ya one:

3) Memorable lines from movies - which ones stick? Can be funny, sad, poignant, etc.

Mine:

1) Two scenes: the end of "Breakfast at Tiffany's" where Holly gets boy and Cat in the pouring rain. Somehow the inclusion of Cat always gets to me more, as do most sentimental scenes - if there's an animal in it, cue the waterworks.

and

the end of "Like Water for Chocolate" where Tita finally gets to be alone with the love of her life, and sets the barn on fire. I guess I'm a sucker for doomed romance [snif]

2) For some reason the car falling to "Ride of the Valkyries" in "Blues Brothers" never fails to land me on the floor, even though I've seen the movie n times. Sometimes even just hearing the music makes me think of that scene and I'll crack up to the confusion of everyone around me :P

3) Movie lines. I'm leaving out Serenity a) to avoid spoilage and b) because I'm sure they'll show up in comments, but it's always the funny ones that stick:

From "Trainspotting":

Renton (talking about Sick Boy): Well, he's always been lacking in moral fiber.
Mother Superior: He knows a lot about Sean Connery.
Renton: That's hardly a substitute!

From "Kissing Jessica Stein": Who do I have to blow to get some pussy around here?

From "Eurotrip": "Scotty Doesn't know." I fully admit that this one mostly cracks me up because I feel compelled to sing the "Don't ask Scotty, Scotty doesn't know" ditty whenever Scott McClelland (White House press secretary) is on tv trying to defend one Bush idiocy or another.

Yeah, I got too obscure there...

Snerk. My favorite Scotty doesn't know moment in that movie is when they are in the club in Eastern Europe

All of "Eurotrip" was much funnier than I expected or that it should have been! The club in Eastern Europe was priceless, but I have a fond appreciation for the "Manchester United fight song" sequence - my sister is a fan and I should remind her more frequently that she's a "football hooligan" :P

Huh....

#1: The scene from Braveheart where William Wallace is being tortured.

And the final scene from Dangerous Liaisons, where the Vicomte de Valmont kills himself and his lover dies of grief and the Marquise de Merteuil goes screaming through her rooms, smashing mirrors, when she hears that he's dead.

#2: The Moose bit from the opening credits of...um...Monty Python's Holy Grail. In fact, I think any scene from Monty Python's Holy Grail counts for #2...

#3: The Princess Bride: "I don't think that word means what you think it means." And bunches of others...and I second you on Kissing Jessica Stein!

I'd say more, but am really fuzzy right now...just wove back into town from Cleveland.
