Sinus watch: I think I have allergies. Anyone else out there suffering?
Gas watch: As of yesterday regular was up to $3.75/gallon. I've decided to watch with interest but not get upset re: gas prices - after all, some European countries have been ponying up the equivalent of $8/gallon for years - maybe the market is finally righting itself :P
Of course, it's easy for me to say that - I have a small car and it's not winter yet. I shudder to see the heating bills if this keeps up :/

As for the gas thing. It is now officially cheaper for me to metro--even at rush hour--to Fairfax than to drive. My nice, big, expensive backpack (w/ computer carrying insert) is definitely earning its keep. If we top $6/gallon I'll have to consider walking/busing/bicycling to school, however, 'cause suddenly the bus is cheaper than the car at that point.
And, I'm shuddering over my heating bills as well. I guess it's time to stock up on nice, heavy wool socks and sweaters.

Can you even bike to campus from where you live? It's not far but the road is hardly designed for bike use, is it?

As for biking to campus, there is actually a road parallel to Kennilworth that is bikeable, and then a path partway to campus from the bottom of that to the metro station. At the metro station, you go under their tunnel and through a nice residential neighborhood. And, voila, in 3/4 of a mile, campus. Not ideal, but not nearly as ridiculous as the totally unbikeable main road.

Temps are already starting to drop here in SD; we're waking with them in the '50's, thank goodness!
