weekend in review

Just finishing up a busy weekend here. I feel kind of burnt out on several levels, but an early night should help.
Saturday: lots I wanted to do so got up (relatively) early.
First stop was the adult shop of a new acquaintance of mine. I wanted to stop by and see what it was like, in addition to picking up a bottle of polish for a rubber dress (yes, I have an interesting wardrobe). Results: nice little shop! Most of the standard adult gear (naughty costumes, lube, toys), and I did find my polish :) I regretted that the leather toy selection was so small (though very good quality), but found some interesting books coming out of a Czechoslovakian femdom outfit called the Other World Kingdom (emphatically not safe for work). As it seems there's an overabundance of male dom/fem sub literature out there, this was a pleasant surprise :)
Next stop was G Street for lacing for the corset (I'm about to finish this sucker - grommet the other hip, lace it up and it's good to go) and next door to Filene's Basement for another jacket/blazer search. Found both, with much pawing through racks and trying on of garments to find the latter. Spent more than I should have, but then, to find anything in a natural fiber with interior finishing at a reasonable price you have to practically know someone </clothing snob> Revelation: I really don't enjoy shopping unless I am looking for something particular; I REALLY don't enjoy shopping when I'm looking for something and not finding it :P The jacket is season-neutral so hopefully I won't have to do this again for awhile :P
Stopped by my favorite local bead shop for hollow beads to tip the corset lacings with; didn't find them but did find that they had moved and expanded! Window licked a little (burgundy pearls! Yes, they're probably dyed but so what?) but behaved.
Movies: D. raved so about Batman Begins (he saw it Friday) that I had to check it out for myself. Review: worth the rant! Not kitchzy cardboard-cutout superhero stuff like the Batman films from the '80s/'90s but much more tangible and cerebral. We finally learn where he gets all those wonderful toys :) Also some beautiful shinai swordplay (want leather ninja armor, WANT!) and Liam Neeson as a bad guy (much tastier than Liam Neeson as a good guy, lack of Jedi robes notwithstanding).
Today: blessedly no errands and only one thing on my list: fencing. I'm getting better with point control but it's less about knowing what to do than having the physical strength to do it - my shoulders were ok; it's my wrists and grip I need to work on next. Also got to do my first saber bout in an age - I definitely need more practice with that.
Got kind of long winded there - not sure why. I AM tired.
