Evidently the mama squirrel hasn't taught it to be afraid of people yet - it walked around on my shoes! I was just charmed to death - it's so seldom you ever see a baby squirrel!

Feel free to post to [livejournal.com profile] baaaaabyanimals or similar :)

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! That is too cute! If you are ever here in the spring, you will be treated to an entire backyard full of baby squirrels. We have 2 squirrel houses up in the trees - the one year there were 6 babies, all piled in a heap on the top of the house, sleeping in the sun. I got some devastatingly cute pics of them. Haven't gotten close enough to touch any, but they sure are adorable to watch.

Gotta love those baby animals! Kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it!

What a sweetie!!!!! Even with the thriving squirrel colony in our courtyard, I never spotted any babies. But saw more than a few baby chipmunks when I was growing up in Ontario, so can easily imagine this little guy's antics. :-)

There is rather a healthy population of squirrels in my neighborhood. Early one morning, as I was sitting on the sidewalk waiting for my ride to faire, a baby squirrel came up very close to me. It put it's front paws up on the edge of my basket and peered in, probably searching for goodies. However, just then some idiot honked their horn and he bolted.

Ohhh - send pictures!! I had never seen a baby squirrel before - I figured they just stayed in the next until they were more or less fully grown!

You have squirrel houses, 3 cats, and there are still squirrels? Some small four legged creatures are shirking their duties, methinks... :P

In a way, that's kind of good though - I feel sorry for this little one because he needs to learn to fear people. I stamped my foot at him a few times, but he just ran over to the next nearest person!

awww! they are so cute! yet they are a most feared predator, known to drag small innocent baby-birds out of the nests and eat them alive. we have a few squirrels in the park outside our kitchen window at home. adorable and fun little guys. b.t.w. in Swedish squirrel = ekorre ;)
