Happened across this on the ICG list - I'm just floored at how many people have done Amidala's elaborate gowns, and done them well - I can't imagine the hours of beading, braiding, and other embellishment that would go into such a thing. I'm intimidated!

(For those not impressed by costumes, go straight to the "Princess Leia slave girl" outfits - some worn by women shapely enough to wear them well ;) )

Actually, there are a lot of goodies over at RebelLegion.com. Fans with this level of dedication and attention to detail - not just in costuming but in props, character creation, etc. boggle my mind - all this time taken with fantastic results, yet it's somewhat disturbing to consider whether they have time to eat/sleep/go to work while making the more elaborate items (I am reminded of the x-wing I saw near Kent State this past weekend - remind me to post photos somewhere). But then, there are probably people who don't understand why I'd devote so much time to researching period-correct Renaissance costume or 1980's pop star stage outfits, so who am I to judge? (Speaking of which - I have some space on Comcast so I have every intention of organizing my hussar/Ant jacket information into a coherent web page. Bug me if I don't).

For those who love the baddies, the 501st site is finally back up. I've seen a couple of these guys in action - full armor, com device (complete with static), immaculate ability to stay in character.
