the dress, round 2
Jan. 20th, 2004 09:53 pmAfter an evening's contemplation and a good night's sleep, I decided to act on some fitting recommendations from h-costume and have another go at the dress pattern.
Note to self, and to anyone else who attempts this pattern: It is workable but sized incredibly large! If the pattern envelope is to be believed, I wear a size 8 instead of 12(a US ready-to-wear size 4-6 - shyeah right!!). This size seems to fit yet still leave a bit of wiggle room, which works out - I'm not trained to be as immobile as fine ladies of the early 19th century :P
Next step: cutting out muslin sleeves in same size for practice.
