Staying home, rest, water, and echinacea (the latter may be mostly placebo, but I figure - can't hurt, might help).

This is of course when my stubborn sense of "machismo" doesn't make me "power it out" in spite of myself. D. is excellent in the capacity of making me sit, take inventory, and slow down when I need to.

Apropos this morning as I'm staying home from fencing [teeth grind] to rest out the last of my shin splints and avoid escalating an infection.

  • 11:33 Probiotic sprinkled on catfood. Feline mutiny expected in 5, 4, 3, 2....
  • 11:33 Organizing the house, kicking an infection, stretching out the last of the splints. Looks like a busy day.
  • 17:13 I am not going to dwell on being sick. I'm just going to tell myself I'm awesome /barneystinson

Y'all have probably been seeing my tweets bitching about my health and other grievances. I'm going to put on my "Pollyanna" hat briefly and concentrate on things to be glad about:

  • Got a commercial grade steel clothing rack that blows my old aluminum and plastic one out of the water. Also, it was on sale.

  • Also got some baskets on deep discount to store my fabric stash, which will hopefully make the finished part of the basement look less like I just moved in.

  • The cats, while still not happy about antibiotics, are no longer growling at us.

  • Making slow steps towards cleaning out closets and basements. I'm finding clothes I didn't even know I had anymore, and have a boxes of flatware and old books ready to go to Goodwill/the library.

  • D. is a Big Damn Hero for getting dinner and keeping me from breaking myself further.

  • Finished one side of lacing holes on the kirtle and can still feel my right hand.
