bad planning
Dec. 10th, 2007 09:06 pmNote to self: when car trouble prevents you getting into the car from the driver's side, don't wear a skirt. Sliding/clambering from the passenger side to the wheel is neither graceful nor comfortable in jeans, so what were you THINKING??
Further note to self: don't try and do it all. I've not been able to "do Christmas" for me and mine in quite awhile so I somehow took it into my head that it would be extra special to have all the gifts sent here and wrap them myself. To this end I went out and got pretty wrapping paper and bows for the first time in forever (and the designs really *are* prettier and more elegant than I remember!)
Unfortunately, I didn't anticipate the massive lines at the post office, or the fact that despite great feats of tailoring and construction, I'm still not that great with getting paper around a square object neatly :( I still plan to wrap/ship everything I've ordered thus far, but will sensibly have the vendor do it for the rest :P
Now that I'm no longer in retail and the sad aspects of SAD no longer afflict me, I'm really trying to enjoy the holidays, but it's compounding inconveniences like the above that tends to turn the festivities into work for me. I'm not helped by the fact that I Just.Could.Not get it together this weekend and slept far too much, too late - as the days grow shorter my body is determined to hibernate!
