grab bag

• Slowness/lateness: got moving too late to get my Metro parking lot of choice and had to go hopscotching to the next one down and then waiting in the freezing wind for a train that kept stalling because it was following another train too closely [teeth grind]. Not unendurable but I sometimes get motion sick on subways. At any rate, I was 10 minutes late for training downtown but it seems they were running 15 minutes late, so, all good.
  
  
• Did I mention freezing? Snow flurries this morning caused motorists to gawp in awe and more is threatened for tomorrow. I like snow when I don't have to be out in it but training in the city tomorrow translates to inevitable freeze/thaw cycle of sinuses that creates unpleasant runny nose.
  
  
• Am catching up with The Tudors for a lark and am exercising the "imagine it's an parallel universe" rationalization (thank you, whoever recommended that) as it seems that Showtime is doing for Tudor England what HBO did for Ancient Rome: sexing it up and taking liberties (Margaret married James of Scotland - who's this Portuguese dude?). Having said this, the series DOES explore (however inefficiently/inaccurately) the political machinations and machinators behind the scenes of the Most Famous Divorce in History(TM), so it's not just a love/sex fest about Henry and his matrimonial marathon.
