Like my weekend, this will have to be "not long enough", as there's that curious "work" thing I have to get to this morning...

Saturday, D. and I went to a Halloween party at a friend of a friends. Yes, he was a network hub (We plugged in briefly and he worked!), I was Aeryn Sun, and I was a little nervous because I didn't know anyone except [livejournal.com profile] skill_grl. Turned out nerves were for naught - everyone was very cool and much good conversation about books, movies, fetishes, and storage were had - definitely people I wouldn't mind hanging with again if I have the chance. Costume breakdown: An academic conference of sorts was in attendance (3 wizards - one Dumbledore, one Gandalf, and one Unseen University alum), various clergy, and many hats.

D. has been keeping me on the straight and narrow re: bedtimes (remember that post where I said I was trying to keep to a regular schedule? Yes, well he did! :P) so we left around 11:30.

The rest of the weekend I cleaned and made stuff. The vacuum cleaner is disturbingly addictive for a household appliance, because it simply works so well! Continued work on the pirate coat, which won't be ready by Halloween but hopefully SHOULD be ready in a week or so. Transformed some mundane objects into fun wicked objects :) And talked on the phone to C. who is very excited about the new dude in her life :)

After seeing a number of kids playing in the neighborhood, I remembered that we live really close to an elementary school so I went out and got a ton of candy for trick-or-treaters tonight. I'm just wondering how I should greet them at the door - full kit (of any kind), or just carrying the rapier?

Random: is it just me or is Smallville taking a distinctly slashy/femslashy bent in recent episodes?

Time to get serious....

Just turned in my last statistics homework!

Now I'm off to order a celebratory/holiday pizza (bacon, bacon!), do 100 perfect lunges, and defend my cats from the onslaught of school-age children at the door, huzzah!

D. and I just finished the very un-Halloweeny "Barbarella". I saw it as a teenager (it's required viewing for all good little teenage Duranies, because of the name of the villian), but didn't remember how staggeringly cheesy it was! At least the costumes were good (Paco Rabane, he of the silver chainmail 60s miniskirt-things).

Everyone I know is doing such cool stuff, I had planned to catch up on correspondence/commentary tonight, but the internet was out half the evening :P
