Sep. 23rd, 2005 08:40 amI'm running late for work and owing fic in several places, but I had to comment:
I read in
idragosani's LJ that last night was the autumn equinox. On this, the first full day of fall.. I gotta say, it's not very "fallish" around here :( Days are shorter, mornings are (blissfully!) cooler, there are a few leaves crunching underfoot, but it still gets into the 80sF during the day and... well, I'm just not feeling it. And I want to - I want a crisp fall day with high, white sunlight and vivid gold and red trees!
Fenced - lightly - last night and stopped when I got a light poke in my low line. D. was playfully irritated because I'd told him I'd try and stick with footwork and light drills, no actual bouts. But, I just couldn't resist - A. had a new gadget, home-made remote scoring machines! They're about the size of a pack of cards with a clip to attach to your back pocket, and you plug the weapon's body cord into it. When the tip of the (electric) foil touches, it buzzes. They can't detect *where* a touch landed but the sound gives some indication *when*, so as to better judge who was "in" first. They're just damn cool :)

Ok, running late, more later! Leaving with a link: Tipping the Velvet lyrics, for those who've ever wondered.
