I'm back and I'm bad!

I did have a nice visit with family - relatives who I'd not seen in awhile, some in over 10 years. My aunt is well - going back to work has treated her well, she's lost a ton of weight and looks fantastic! And as far as my sister is concerned, she's back home - started her new job and is living with my mother until she finds a place of her own. And my cousin who I last saw when she was 7 is now a thoughtful and kick-assedly academic young lady of 21 (! Definitely a case of "I left just as she was getting interesting").
Going back to the town where I grew up (I don't think of it as "home" anymore) is always a surreal experience: I still recognize roads and landmarks, but there's always something new or different to throw me off. It gives me the sensation of being in a dream where everything is familiar yet subtly wrong, and it always leaves me again thinking that somehow I never really belonged there.
Have caught up on email and have laundered smoky clothing. Have gone to doctor and need to make some changes. Received registration confirmation for the CSA symposium next month (!!) Gonna see Elizabeth I deconstructed, baybee....
And tomorrow I turn 32. Still not sure how I got there - I'm fairly sure I was 28 not too long ago. At least it's an even number (though 31 was fun - it's neat being prime).
Oh yeah, haven't caught up with sleep yet, which may explain the rambling nature of this post.
