fabric stash: losses and gains

I actually lost surprisingly little in the water heater spill. I even discovered a few things that I'd forgotten I had:

• black cotton flannel, suitable for lining a new corset (I'm thinking another Regency, in black and green vinyl)
  
• Cotton batiste, will make good pocket lining or repairs (?)
  
• navy blue linen/cotton, maybe enough for a pair of 16th c. sleeves (?)
  
• A good yard/yard and 1/2 of black velveteen, which might become a velvet Tudor partlet one day if I can linen to line it with
  
• Skinny strips of same velvet, might make good trim for something
  
• silk dupioni, once a gray/lavender which I loved but looked bad on me, is, after washing, a curiously watermarked gunmetal gray color. Not much of it, but might make an interesting trim or applique
  

The one large loss was my first tailored jacket, which I made back in college - it is wool, and stinks of muddy water and soap and fuel, and I just don't think it's salvageable :/ Still, I think I'm skilled enough of a tailor now that I don't need to use it as reference anymore; maybe it's time to throw out my "training wheels"!

And yes, the scraps from the Costume Con fuschia Regency escaped unscathed. Imagine that :P

Other sewing stuff: cut out the POTC jacket muslin; will attempt to assemble for fitting this weekend. My back has been twitching most of the week and leaning over the table didn't help much, so I'm taking my sewing in slow stages (how sad is that?)

Also after much baked goods discussion, I'm going to have a bake-off tomorrow or Monday comparing my mom's biscuit recipe to Alton Brown's. Though, to be truthful, I may give into my taste buds and make the cinnamon roll variation instead :P

Going to go lay down with heating pad now.
