0 5 hundred (oh my doG, it's early!)
Jun. 28th, 2004 07:27 amThis is the time that Kisia woke me this morning; she was playing - boisterously, hyperactively - in the pile of laundry on the floor. I didn't know sheets could be so loud until the little cat starts streaking through them :P Anyway....
Weekend in review: used my basic body-pattern to draft a princess seamed version that fits well. Transferred both of the patterns to white foam board for future tracing (prior version was on grey board - very hard on the eyes and difficult). I may well take a break from drafting this week, as leaning over the table is very hard on my back!
Discoveries: I now know what my funky french curve and design ruler are for - never again shall I have to freehand arm and neck curves! Further shock - drafting these patterns I have learned just how short-waisted I am - were my torso proportional to my legs I'd probably be about 5'9" (I wish)!
I must be among the truly costume-obsessed; D. advises me that I even talk about frogging and braid in my sleep :P This must stop as there is little braid or frogging in my immediate future, but I'm also dreaming of the possible color combinations of copper and lapis ;) I have a pile of beading stuff I've not touched since at least winter; that might be my "toy" for this week.
Still reading away; I'm almost done with book 1 of the Coldfire Trilogy, and while it's interesting I'm not completely sucked in. I wasn't able to finish "Plan of Attack" because the library wanted it back, but a common theme seemed to be Colin Powell being left out in the cold and then wondering "what just happened?" :P I need to get cracking on the Tudor book as it's been awhile since I "visited" the 16th century and it might be fun to get back :)
I have some writing to do and there's a storyline on one of my groups that just isn't getting off the ground. Time to either take it in a radically new direction or try and flog the dead horse again.
I am so not on the ball this morning!
