(lack of) vision thing
Mar. 5th, 2004 09:59 pmMy eyesight has been strange for the past few weeks - maybe more, but I'm only noticing it now.
My near sight is all right, but when driving I'm finding it more difficult to read signs and see other small details. I knew this was becoming a problem when the dead tree branches ceased to differentiate, resembling a brown-gray blur.
I'm hoping it's just eyestrain; I took out my contacts when I got home. My glasses are weaker than my contacts so my near-vision is frustratingly blurry, but at least my eyes are "breathing", as my eye doc puts it.
If this continues, I'll go in and have my prescription checked, even though I find it hard to believe that I've gotten this noticeably worse since November. I suspect something else is at work.
In other good news, I got a nice surprise when I got home. Picture it:
Long. Firm. Delightfully slender with curves in all the right places. Sexy...;)
Yes, my saber arrived! Just as ordered, has a pleasant weight and balance in the hand and makes a nice "whoosh!" when slashed through the air! It's difficult to find good pictures of fencing gear online, but these photos of sabre guards might give you some idea.
I'm reluctant to practice with tonight, with my tired eyes, but hopefully I'll use it this Sunday :) Meanwhile, just remember: Hell hath no fury like a woman with a sword!
