odds and ends

Jury duty has been curiously kind to me lately. For the past few weeks, we've only been needed in the afternoons, sometimes only for a couple of hours. This leaves me with my mornings free to do things, make phone calls that I'd normally have to defer to the weekend.

This morning: Called around to body shops to finally get the driver's-side mirror on my car repaired. I knocked it loose about a year ago when I drove too close to the security gate card-slide machine at the parking deck at work :> It's hanging on, but barely, so I figure if I'm going to drive to Atlanta I ought to get it fixed if I can.

And yeah, I am going to drive to Atlanta for Costume Con/visiting with Mom. I usually fly everywhere so it's been an age since I've had a good "road trip". Also, if I drive I'll be able to bring back 2 sewing machines my mother has been holding for me for years. More sewing machines are a Good Thing :)

Also found a shoe shop that can dye my shoes for the Pink Thing. Speaking of which, I find myself with time to do a bit of sewing, so I think I will.
