odds and ends
Feb. 4th, 2004 09:08 pmToday is the first day in 2 weeks that I've worn something other than my black lace up boots. It didn't even hit 40F today but it was sunny and the snow was melting, and after bitter cold and snow/frozen rain, I'll take any meteorological respite I'm offered!
Jury duty was only a half day, and great good news - they have bottled water again! May not sound like much but the tap water here is so chlorinated it's like drinking a swimming pool :(
Jury duty and the weather have really begun to get on my nerves. Both interfere with my schedule in such a way that I can't plan for things like doctor's appointments, meetings at work, etc. This, and I find I actually like getting dressed and going to the office; besides alleviating cabin fever it helps me get in the right frame of mind to work.
The world outside is cleaning itself, so I did a bit of my own today: mopped the salt/mud off the floors and went to the car wash to wash off the same. I also cleaned the bathroom and realized - I have an awful lot of makeup for someone who usually doesn't wear much. I hang on to most of it to accessorize the costuming habit, but really, all I need most of the time is concealer, powder, and lip-cheek stain. Fun toys, I need to find more excuses for playing with them!
Looking forward to the weekend and "craft day" at
geekchick's.
