I had hoped to skip SAD this year. For the 2nd year running (!), I've not experienced my usual depression at the onset of cold and dark, for which I am even more grateful than usual, given the circumstances this year.
Unfortunately, one thing I can't escape is the lethargy. For the past week or so I have had a major case of the "slows", in both mind and body. Exercise has gone from a pleasure to a chore (though I'm sometimes ok once I get moving). Writing has been an uphill battle, either fiction or in my journal (looking at my entries for the past few days makes me blush). I will consider myself productive if I manage to sew a single lacing hole this evening.
Luckily, work of late has been mostly repetitive code cleanup and graphic design based on a mock-up that was so well thought out that I didn't need to inject much creativity into it. I keep my mind from blanking completely with the help of coffee, Discworld audio books, and Art Bell.
This is most vegetative time of the year :P I plan to spend it at Return of the King tomorrow, as D. and I have high hopes that the theaters will be (relatively) empty on Christmas Eve.
For tonight, on to that lacing hole :P Hopefully later on, to dream of hot summer days in which I'm so awake my scalp fairly prickles with energy!
