Why Legolas Isn't Getting Any (despite the best efforts of fans/slashers)

Either they are radiantly asexual, or they are all screwing each other madly, along with any dwarves, hobbits, and men who happen along. Whichever you prefer is usually based on how attractive you think Orlando Bloom is.

Here it is, from the Man Himself - elves don't do adultery and generally lose interest after babies are "given to" them". And evidently the one recorded instance of an elf man falling in love with a human woman went badly. On the up side, Aragorn is unlikely to have to worry about Arwen straying (like she'd even be tempted with him around ;) )

Yeah, I've been picking on Orlando Bloom a lot lately, but it's all in jest, so hold onto your rotten tomatoes :P I'm just taking the opportunity, now that ROTK is out, to point out that it's all about Aragorn, baby! Phwaar!

playing with swords: epee

Got out to fence for the first time all month. A. and I went intending to fence foil against each other, if no one else, but the epeeists offered equipment, so we ended up fencing electrical epee all evening.

It's different. Everything is a target, and there's no right of way, so whoever hits first gets the point. Both fencers hit at the same time, both get points. Bouts are necessarily short :P We didn't do too badly, and I got to fence a former Olympian, and that's not something that happens everyday :)

I liked it, but I'm not going to give up my foil - with the lack of rules in epee I could see myself getting really sloppy if that's all I did.

Also discovered that when I tried to emulate the epee "on guard" stance, I couldn't get into the right headspace to concentrate correctly. Once I brought my back hand back to where it goes in foil, I was "back". Interesting.

It was good to get back out on the strip. I've been rather slack as far as exercise and rather enthusiastic when it comes to cocoa so I needed to get out there and move around.
