I've not had much to write lately. Mostly I've been catching up on some reading and sewing and battling the impulse to sleep, especially now that the temperature has dropped again. My body says hibernate, and my mind is going from screaming "hell no!" to admitting that a nap might not be bad ;) However, I'm not having the "winter blues", so this is still a vast improvement on years past!
I'm not taking this Friday off, but I am taking next Friday to attend the CSA talk on the Enterprising Women exhibit downtown in the morning, and then not sure what else the rest of the afternoon - maybe nothing! (BTW, I can bring guests to the above - let me know if you're interested).
I've done the boning channels for the corset and will start cutting the cable ties into "bones" tonight or tomorrow, if my hands aren't tired (much typing at work of late). D. volunteered to do the turkey, so I'll do the baking tonight and steam a few things for tomorrow, and that will be my part of the cooking :)
Finished 1421, and in lieu of a review I just suggest - if you're interested in history, check it out of the library and read it. The author is not some fanciful crank; he's done serious research and checked it out with other scholars. China was definitely the place to be in 1421, the western Renaissance notwithstanding!
Am now reading The House of Gucci, a history of the label and the accompanying machinations, murder, and mayhem that surrounded the Gucci family. Pretty good so far, and a good illustration of why it's not always good to mix business and home life ;)
