brisk Monday morning

..and I can't believe I'm up this early! It's rather pleasant, actually, to be sitting by an open window with a cup of coffee when it's only in the 40s F outside.

Link of the Morning: The Worst Jobs in Science - I think #s 1, 2, and 3 are ranked just about right, but 8 sounds so stressful that I'd put it higher on the list. And even though 14 is supposed to be fairly glamourous , the details do leave something to be desired.

Also, Popular Science's icon for "psychological torture" is wonderfully mean-spirited to purple dinosaurs everywhere ;)

If you've been reading my journal for the past few days, you've probably seen me talk about Regency stays, an embroidered partlet, a Vionnet cape, and fabric for sleeves in the past couple of days.

Now, I don't want y'all to think I'm fickle or scatterbrained - I'm not (well, not too much). Indeed, I seldom work on more than one project at a time. However, availability of materials + hyperactive need to always be working on something = flitting from project to project to do what I can.
