Turns out Kisia HAD swallowed about 6" worth of thread, and they did have to operate :( We were up until 2 waiting on the vet to call with the results. Fortunately, it was a "simple operation", and she was well hydrated beforehand, so we have high hopes.
Cruel irony: over the weekend I was relacing some costumes and even when she was feeling so miserable, she was still watching the lacing tape like a hawk. It is obvious now that I'm going to have to be very careful about her love of string because she clearly doesn't know to control herself! :(
We're going to pick her up in about an hour, so she can recupe quietly at home. D. will be here with her, which is good because I think he was even more worried than I was!
