Seven Warnings of Bogus Science - very useful bullshit detector, designed for federal judges but useful for everyone. I especially agree with #5 - thousands of years of thousands + of people believing something to be true is never, ever going to make something a fact on it's own. I must admit I am reluctant to blow off all alternative medicines though - testing of some remedies using established scientific method of repeatable results has revealed that some of these actually work (too tired to pull up resources right now).

I am very tired and not thinking clearly. Not enough proper sleep this week (again! Why is this shocking?) and far too much caffiene. I'm going to try and "dry out" this weekend with lots of sleep and lots of water. And lots of cutting out of dusters - rolling up vinyl here. May go out tomorrow night, but with my eyelids drooping around my kneecaps 24 hours looks like 24 days away so I'm not going to decide now.

(Crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] dressdiaries):

Doublets, shirts, sleeves, slops, the lot - from Margo's Patterns, she of the widely praised Elizabethan Lady's Ensemble.

D. is in for it, once I have a chance to get to this - I wonder if I can talk him into the slops over the venetians (which show less leg :P)...
