The weekend was a good one. I managed to get a lot of things done - yes, obnoxious Puritan work ethic, but I LIKE a sense of achievement, even on weekends when I can supposedly slob around guilt-free.

Worked on the dress - still moving along nicely, if cautiously. I'm still basting and making muslins of every damn thing - because of the limited amount of fashion fabric I have to work with I am determined to make sure I'm not using a shred more than I have to.

Helped D. add a towel rack to the bathroom door - no more draping towels over closet doors/whatever is available, yay!

Perpetual re-organizing of the closet continues. I can, I will get rid of stuff I'm not wearing/using. I'm going to offer some of my unused sewing stuff (embroidery hoops, fabric I'll never use) to my guests at sewing circle next weekend - I hate to just throw stuff out; sometimes even giving to Goodwill feels like I'm just pitching it aimlessly into the void.

Got some sleep this weekend, not enough, but at least I'm still on a quasi-weekday schedule and will likely get to sleep tonight before 1 (assuming I actually get in bed before 11 - this will be trickier).

Waited until dark to take out garbage and recycling - I didn't really want to play with the mosquitoes and their lovely West Nile virus.

D. and I had a nice vent at CNN re: the "War on Terrorism" which seems to be turning into a war on Iraq. Many arguments can be made about how Saddam Hussein is a bad person who needs to be ousted, but I thought the whole purpose of this circus was to catch Bin Laden - and AFAIK there is no reason to think that Bin Laden is in Iraq. Anti-Saddam groups tell Dubya that everyone, including the Iraqi military are ready to fight Saddam, but evidently Dubya et. al. have failed to take into account that the Iraqi opposition may be biased. <vulcan>Their logic is flawed</vulcan>.

I can't even go into TIPS and the anthrax suspect, and if you've read this far you're probably already sick to death of my rantings re: the state of the union.

I find I'm not writing in here as much - I'm too busy DOING stuff, and when I do write it is material that I do not care to share with the world at large (don't ask). I do still enjoy reading what my friends and friends of friends are up to though, so don't think I've vanished.

Time for bed.
