Too much inspiration to mention, but I've narrowed it down. My 2 most immediate costuming inspirations are:

  1. Variation of Lexx Cluster Lizard outfit. Should not be TOO difficult (crosses fingers) - I'm going to try making a muslin using a Kwik Sew merry widow pattern as the base. I only have 2 yards of snakeskin-patterned vinyl and I am guessing that much of it will be used in the skirt and as "scales". And I'm definitely going to make the one with the covered stomach - I don't really want to expose my midriff.

  2. Zam Wesell - female shape-shifting bounty hunter from Star Wars II. Looks VERY difficult but oh so cool. The top could be a laced up renn bodice over gray bodysuit...no idea how I'd do the boots. Skirt could be weathered vinyl mounted on something like plastic canvas and wired together....Helmet... hmm.. take sports helmet and cut/drill into shape..Perhaps best to wait until I know more about the more exotic fabrications before I try this??

I am going to try 1 first - I've done lingerie before and I won't have to go scavenging for materials because I have plenty of fabric left over from various lingerie/spandex projects over the years. I also have no idea where I'd even BEGIN on 2.

This is all assuming I don't get sidetracked with something else more tempting.

And no, at this time I have no idea where I'd wear such things, even if I'm able to complete them. That's not the point - I just want to see if I can....

Still coming down from Costume College. I feel so inspired and have greater faith that there are really cool people out there, and I want to hang on to that. I really, really do not need a crash.

For some reason I am in great pain when I wake up in the morning. This was true all during vacation but I had hoped it would stop when I got home, back to my own bed, familiar surroundings, etc. I think I just lifted, moved, pulled, and did so damn much over the past week that I'm not quite adjusted yet. Getting up, moving around, and stretching some helped get rid of it but I'd like to not face this every morning.

To bed at a decent hour to see if I'll actually get to sleep before midnight.
