sos_usa so I won't spend valuable time venting in my journal about the desecration of the Constitution - just let them do it for me. I won't even start about the "TIPS" program. Stasi, here we come!
Still packing for trip, still convinced I'm going to forget something. I'm taking a pile of books, the same way I do every trip, even though I know I won't have time to read much. It just gives me a feeling of security (and a lack of a feeling of boredom on long plane flights). So far the tally is Neil Gaiman's latest, a biography of the medieval writer Christine de Pizan, "The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul" and probably one other.
I will miss D. terribly. I asked him to go, but he rightly pointed out that there would be little for him to do while I'm taking classes and workshops, and LA isn't really his idea of a vacation.
