smallpox redux

This is the only update I've found since June 9 (courtesy Daypop) about the smallpox outbreak in Pakistan. This article describes the outbreak as "ignored" - well duh!

Concerns me.. if this has really happened either 1) smallpox has not been eradicated or 2) it was released by people, either by accident or design.

If anyone has more recent info, please send it on....I'm quite curious.

Update 11:45 - Turns out it was chickenpox. All my freakout over what was probably a mistranslation.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival: The Silk Road - June 26-30 & July 3-7. Silk is GOOD.

Also "Technology as Catalyst: Textile Artists on the Cutting Edge" (until July 28) and "Secrets of Silk" (starting June 28) at the Textile Museum.
