Just found out that one of the classes I am signed up for at Costume College requires bringing your own sewing machine.
I REALLY do not want to take my sewing machine on the plane, cross country with me - it is too heavy and I would worry about it being knocked around in flight.
So my options are:
1) Drop the Class
Pro:
Con:
or
2) Purchase Singer Featherweight (i.e., small size) machine for $150-200 on Ebay
Pro:
Con:
You know, spelled out like this the choice is so damn OBVIOUS...
Well.. I have Hunnisett directions for 18th c. corsets anyway...

So my options are:
1) Drop the Class
Pro:
- Easiest, makes most sense
- Gives me all of Friday free to attend other classes
Con:
- Really wanted to learn to make Georgian corset
or
2) Purchase Singer Featherweight (i.e., small size) machine for $150-200 on Ebay
Pro:
- I could always use another sewing machine (yes I could!!!)
Con:
- Kenmore doesn't make a featherweight - so I'd have to invest in all-new Singer-specific attachments
- $150-200 in addition to the $70 fee for the class
- Still have to haul the thing cross country
- Assuming I actually have the winning bid on Ebay
