dream: the party from hell

Don't know what cut this little slice of hell out of my head last night!

Throwing an outdoor party on a summer night, and everything goes wrong:

• I can't find a generator
  
• The DJ won't spin unless he can leave a cash box by his turntables for "tips"
  
• Because the DJ won't spin, everyone falls asleep waiting for something to happen
  
• Even though it is a summer evening, it snows, forcing everyone inside...
  
• ...which is a problem, because my entire extended family is trying to sleep in there
  
• I have no backup site, even though the snow stops quickly
  
• I'm exhausted and can't find my glasses
  

Wait, it gets EVEN BETTER...the guest list included:

• An old friend from high school (now ex-friend in real life), who was nosy, obnoxious, and needed constant entertaining
  
• Two of my exes, which were now best friends (for some reason I found this depressing development incredibly funny)
  
• Relatives who insisted I needed to go to the family reunion - in another state - RIGHT NOW
  
• The people who I wanted to attend didn't/couldn't - C. was coming in from the west coast but never managed to get there, and D. was nowhere to be found even though I was looking everywhere. I thought I caught glimpses of him, but could never be sure.
  

Maybe this is a subconcious outline of why I never threw a rave?

Notes to self re: upcoming SCA events

Night on Board - April 19-21, nautical theme, Annapolis so not a long way to drive.

Garb Wars (no link yet), Street MD, May 10-12 - costuming classes and general costuming gluttony, nuff said.

Though hopefully a trip to NYC will fit somewhere in the next couple of months....
