X-Files cancelled

About time too.

I love the older series - it was weird, funny, and did a lot to make the population at large aware of weird/paranormal stuff (I suppose it can be argued whether this is a good thing or not, but that's another subject). After the movie came out it seemed to really start suffering, and getting rid of Mulder was the death knell. I've still been watching it just to see if anything improves (hope springs eternal) but the plot just keeps going in too many directions.

IMHO a lot of shows do this - beat it into the ground when ending on a high would have been the better course. I guess hindsight really is 20/20, but perhaps they should have quit the series after the movie and started sequential movies.

I have been assigned editing duties in addition to my pre-production duties with this instructional video at work. I spent most of the day reading/listening to Premiere introductions and tutorials, and somehow this doesn't seem to have the learning curve that I thought it would - could actually be fun!

I really need to get past the last of my techno-fear - learning new products/languages still intimidates me terribly. Maybe its a leftover from my "computers are for math majors" thing in college or maybe I've just been concentrating on the more complicated (to me) aspects of computing, that I will need help with to master (like XML. Yes, still hammering on that beast. Geekchick, I may yet take that course online if I can't find a class that fills up).

Snow is predicted for tomorrow so I went out to the grocery so we won't end up eating pasta exclusively tomorrow. Not sure how I feel about snow - I like it in theory but once it's hung around long enough to be a driving hazard/muddy, sludgy eyesore, hard reality sets in and I hate it like the plague.

Should give me a chance to take care of some things tomorrow - laundry, scanning, reading, etc.

Meanwhile very hungry waiting for Chinese food to get here.
