Sep. 15th, 2001 11:43 pmI read tonight on the Washington Post site that there are plans for a protracted engagement with Afghanistan. Whether this is going to be bombing, ground troops, or what, it is clear that this won't be short and sweet like the Gulf War.
And I know it has to come to this, but I just hope that whatever U.S. forces do over there doesn't make the whole thing ten times worse.
Funny, I went out to help my local SCA group paint props for an upcoming event. It was a PERFECT day today. Not a cloud in the sky, not too hot or too cold, and a cool group of people. It was almost possible to forget for a few hours that this mess is not over, it just keeps happening.
