I think the exercise where she has them write from their own viewpoint as officers-in-training and then re-writing from the point of view of terrorists was intriguing - perhaps not the whole class, but certainly this exercise should be required rather than elective because of it's sheer usefulness - from my uninformed perspective it seems like the U.S. military is more likely to confront terrorist tactics and mindset on the modern battlefield than traditional rules of combat conduct.
