As anyone who has been paying attention for the past few days knows, we're under orange alert here, and even more under orange alert in my locality.

Though I joked about it earlier, I'm not sure what to think now. After all this crying wolf, our fearless leaders are now offering a course of action.

Re: courses of action. I'm not sure any of this would actually WORK - the plastic sheeting is primarily a defense against chemical weapons which are localized by nature, and I just can't see a faceless suburb getting hit with sarin. We always have bottled water anyway, and enough food unless there's a bio attack and we're scared of catching smallpox from the pizza boy (I joke, but what else can one do?)

I've already told some online buddies that if they don't hear from me they shouldn't worry too much - I'm probably fine, but that all communcations avenues will likely be tied up with people trying to contact family - if something happens. Because, nothing may happen at all.

So, back to square one - be alert, be worried, be prepared, but go about business as usual. I think the worst is not even being able to imagine what COULD happen, as there is nothing in my frame of experience that I can compare with this.

So one continues. I am keeping my plans to go out, pursue hobbies, travel, etc.
