Damn, as you get older they seem to fly by so much more quickly, don't they?

Many people are posting "year in review" type posts, and perhaps I will later. But right now I'm thinking more about what I want to do next year, that I didn't this year.

In no particular order:

  • Try to be less arrogant. I have a judgemental/prejudicial streak a mile wide and it's hard as hell to back up and be objective sometimes.
  • Work on the old social skills (though frankly, at this late date, my social ineptitude may simply be a fact of life).
  • Get out more. I have an easy (not entirely bad) habit of living too much inside my books and my head. Interfacing with the physical world is something I enjoy yet do too little.
  • Stop letting "it" get to me so much. I am still victim to obsessive, looping thought patterns about percieved wrongs/inadequacies.
  • Get more comfortable with new realizations and insights.
  • Experiment.
  • Learn more. Specifically - sewing, because I enjoy it (Costume Con! Costume College!). Practically, buckle down and read that "Personal Finance for Dummies" that's been lying around so long.
  • Improve my concentration. "Never her mind on where she was, what she was doing..."
  • Try new things, go new places, meet new people.
  • Improve my communication skills; specifically, thinking more before speaking/writing. Not for matters of temper - this is largely reined in - but because I still have difficulty expressing a cogent argument and can never explain things as clearly as I'd like.
  • Minor fencing goal - learn to think instead of stab reactively.
  • Have more fun.

Might add/subtract later.
