pirate progress 2: what shall I do with a floppy cuff?

The sleeves are on:

side of coat with sleeve attached. Sleeve has deep cuff

Even with interlining, the deep cuff is floppy and tends to roll down. I'm uncertain whether I want to tack it in place or leave it as is - the latter might lend extra flappiness if I ever perform the hand-waving Jack Sparrow Run:

Next: finish the insides, hem, and addition of 28 pewter buttons.

I want to see you run like Jack Sparrow with your sleeves flapping in the wind! :ppppp

YOu evil thing ... now I've got "What shall I do with a floppy cuff?" playing in my head to the tune of "Drunken Sailor" (extra scarily, it's the Captain Dan version rather than the traditional!)

What about just tacking the cuff along the groove of the sleeve's inner seam? (maybe leaving the upper 2-3 inches untacked) That would let the upper side of the cuff flop as it will without letting it completely decuff itself.

You have an earworm? My job here is done :P

Yep, "stitch in the ditch" is a possibility...

Fortunately I was able to kill the earworm with a hefty dose of good tunes on the stereo. ;-)
