much feline happiness
Aug. 30th, 2002 10:48 pmThe windows are open, the catnip is out. My cats are usually content, but I don't think I've seen them this happy in a long time.
We slept with the windows open last night and will again tonight - the breeze and the chirping of the crickets is relaxing in a way that I can't describe. I think maybe we must left the windows open in the summer when I was a kid, but given the weather where I grew up that doesn't seem right....for whatever reason, I like it.
Going with D. and friends to see "24 Hour Party People" tomorrow night, a movie about the founding of Factory Records and the "Madchester" scene, the sound that defined my senior year of high school. I'd gone with my family on vacation in England the summer before, and as I had a penpal in Manchester I can actually say I was "There" in the legendary year of 1990. We tried to go to the Hacienda, but were kicked out because we didn't have ID (we had been told we wouldn't need it, and were underage anyway). BTW
geekchick, the guy playing Tony Wilson is Steve Coogan, the guy responsible for Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible. I am scared.
So anyway, off to relive psychedelic indie-dance and the birth of phat jeans...
<personal plug>The owner of a site I design for is going to be on NPR discussing her new historic underwear calendar. We hope to get a lot of hits, so come visit.</personal plug>
