Everyone knows my answer: Anyone but Hayden Christiansen/Jake Lloyd as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels.

It's come to the point that any time D. or I see a talented child actor - past or present, male or female, we muse "why couldn't ______ have played Anakin?" After all, they still could - it's never too late to edit Star Wars :P

Anybody but Leslie Howard as Ashley in Gone With the Wind. What's this tired, middle aged balding Englishman doing playing the young Southern God Scarlett fell in obsessive love with at the age of fifteen?

You know, I did wonder - I always saw Howard's Ashley as horribly milquetoast. I thought Scarlett's pursuit of him wasn't because of attraction as much as it was about how she couldn't stand not to be the center of everyone's attention!
