Aug. 5th, 2002 09:26 pmWound up a great weekend by seeing "Signs" with friends last night.
I thought it was a decent movie, right up until the last 20 minutes or so. M. Night Shyamalan seems to have this way with doing very dark and suspenseful films with a lot of atmosphere. The best parts of this movie will give you serious shivers down your spine as you think you ALMOST see the alien but not quite.
I also enjoyed the bits they borrowed/adapted from the UFO literature (if you can call it that) - animals never get violent around UFOs/crop circles - if anything they are terrified and avoid them like the plague.
I got to see my friends that I hadn't seen in awhile, including a friend who has been in Africa most of the summer doing medical work. Wish she could stay in town longer - Friday she goes back to school until who knows when.
Did some sewing today and stopped when leaning over the table started to hurt my back. I don't remember this happening during my all night sewing marathons in college. Getting older is mostly advantages, but this isn't one of them!
This is v. funny. Will make you type like this. Minus: will not work in Mozilla. Plus: will work in IE, which I have. Go me!
